The Brexit FactBase story

The Brexit
FactBase story

I created Brexit FactBase to provide free up-to-date Brexit facts without political spin. Political views colour Brexit discussions and, even in 2020, misinformation and, sometimes, lies can go unchallenged.

The website organises Brexit facts under 14 topic headings, which range from ‘what is the EU?’ through ‘trade’ and immigration’ to ‘no deal’. Please scroll down to the Contents map for the full coverage. Recent additions include Johnson’s proposed agreement with the EU in ‘negotiations’.

To maintain objectivity and independence, I meet the costs of running the website out of my own pocket.

For free access to the full website, please register (just name and email).

The website has its roots in the run-up to the 2016 referendum. Like many people, I was disappointed by the lack of unbiased Brexit facts and figures. To help fill the gap, a friend and I made a presentation for friends and neighbours (leavers and remainers). The initial material became the foundation for the website, which went live in early 2018.

Since then, I have written several Brexit briefing papers (with experts) and articles, and made other presentations (even occasional radio interviews). Scroll down for briefing papers on trade and ‘no deal’ and a Pdf summary of Brexit facts.

I trust you find it useful. Please contact me if you have suggestions for improvements or new information.
