Views on ‘how is Brexit going?
In June 2026, when asked ‘How is Brexit going?’, nearly two-thirds (61%) of Britons thought that Brexit has been more of a failure than success, including 32% of Leave voters (see Figure 17.5).
Only 12% feel that it has been more of a success. However, a significant 19% of Britons consider it to be neither, plus 8% who don’t know.
Only a quarter of those who voted to leave the EU (25%) believe Brexit has been a success, whereas only 2% of those who voted remain think it has been a success.
For UK voters at GE 2024:
- The views of Reform UK voters are split. A quarter (24%) of see Brexit as more of a failure compared to (29%) who see it as a success. The majority (44%) see Brexit as neither a success nor a failure.
- Conservative voters tend to see Brexit has been more a failure, by 36% to 25%.
- By contrast, 82% of Labour and Lib Dem voters think it has ultimately been a failure, alongside 87% of Green voters.
